Indiana University School of Medicine

With nine campuses throughout the state of Indiana, the Indiana University School of Medicine provides a flexible education for students. You can attend courses at the main campus in Indianapolis or complete your entire education at one of the other eight regional campuses.
There are also several options to gain real-world experience. The school offers many community-based learning opportunities. Medical service-learning activities are combined with a structured curriculum to expand your education and expose you to a wide range of patients.
The School of Medicine focuses on interprofessional experiences as well. You can shadow professionals in your chosen field while also learning more about other areas of medicine.
During your final years of education, you will have the chance to complete your clerkship at five different affiliate hospitals. The school also has a robust research program. In addition to getting your MD, you can apply to one of the many joint Ph.D. or Master’s degree programs. Indiana University School of Medicine researches many areas of medicine, including oncology, immunology, neuroscience, and more.
Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine

The Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a relatively new school. It was founded in 2010 and is the only medical school in the state that focuses on osteopathic medicine.
When you graduate from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, also known as MU-COM, you will earn your DO. The school’s degree program is designed to teach you about the fundamentals of medicine like traditional MD programs. However, MU-COM takes on a more holistic approach to medical care.
Your education will be patient-focused. This medical school in Indiana prepares you to be a lifelong care provider to patients. Much of the curriculum centers on preventative medicine and primary care. The core of osteopathic medicine is to improve the overall health of your patients.
MU-COM follows this tradition while training you in all areas of medicine. The curriculum includes early clinical experience as well as interdisciplinary training to prepare you for a fulfilling career ahead.
