NYIT College Of Osteopathic Medicine

The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine also referred to as TouroCOM, has two campuses. The primary campus is in Harlem while a smaller campus is located in Middletown, New York. The school was established in 2007.
It was created to train minorities in the medical field while also serving communities that didn’t have good access to healthcare. The Harlem and Middletown campus locations were not a coincidence. Both were designated as underserved by the federal government. TouroCOM aims to solve that issue by working closely with both communities.
Community service events are available to local residents in the area. These services are students throughout the year. As a student, they are a great chance to gain experience with health counseling, health screenings, and other important services you will be providing after you graduate.
Osteopathic medicine is the main area of study. The school grants DO degrees. During the first half of the program, you will study the fundamentals and complete basic science courses. The final two years are reserved for clinical rotations, which are done at several hospitals throughout New York.
